How to pay cash for a vacation
When many people take a vacation, it follows them home...in a bad way. That means that when they return home, they are still paying on the credit cards that they used on vacation.
In today's world it is very easy to pay cash for a vacation. You start by having a weekly deduction from your paycheck automatically put into a savings account. This money will come out of your check before you even see it, much the same as the government takes taxes out of your check. Many people don't really stop to think how much money the government is taking, but that is a subject for another article.
In this example we will put $20 per week into a savings account. At the end of 1 year, you have $1,040 to spend on vacation. You may say that $1,040 isn't much money for a vacation, but what you can have is a vacation that does not follow you home. You can take a 3-4 day vacation and pay cash for it.
If you want to go on a more expensive vacation you can always just take a weekend trip one year. Do not spend all of the money that you have saved. Only spend about $300. The next year you will have $740 from the previous year plus $1,040 from the current year. The total money available to spend on vacation would be $1,780.
Remember the main goal of a vacation is to get away from the stress of work for a little while and enjoy yourself. You can do that in 2-3 days or a few weeks. It is much less stressful when you return and know that you have all ready paid for your vacation .
Obviously if your budget allows you to set more money aside than $20 per week for a vacation, then you can have more money to spend for your vacation.

Me and my 18 year old friends are going on a 2 month vacation next summer. We all have about 8000 dollars in our bank account. How would we pay for our trip. Like hotels flights and entertainment? We dont have credit or debit cards. Should we get them?
In my opinion, you should never get a credit card.
A debit card would be good.
I suggest that you check with a local bank or credit union. They usually have travel cards available. They work the same as a gift card. You can put "X" amount on the card and use it as a credit card until you have used all that is on your card.

Would 8000 be enough for two months? Or should we get some more money? Plane tickets probably going to cost 1000, and thats 7000 left for food, hotels, and entertainment. ?
It all depends on where you are going to stay or what you are going to do.
The best thing you can do is go online and do some research. Find out what it will cost for you to do the things you want to do and stay where you want to stay.
I would suggest that when you come up with an amount that you think you will need, add some to that. No matter how conservative you think you are estimating, it seems like most of the time you will still estimate low. If you don't spend all of the money you have allotted for this trip, that just means you will have extra money to put into your savings or even invest.
